Welcome to Under the Table.  A place where I will endevour to eat, drink and merry you under the table!

My name is Ricardo Zegri and this site is about a few of my favorite things.  Booze, food and music. (Those are your favorite things too admit it).  I will also venture inevitably into bizzaro rants, fever dreams, homemade instuments, DIY shenanigans and general insights into the catacombs of a drunkard's mainframe.

Since cooking is what drove me here I'll start with food.  I was privelaged enough to get to be a stay at home dad for the first five years of my daughter's life.  In that time, domesticity has crept into my rock n' roll lifestyle like an old friend crashing on the couch that just won't leave. It has served to round out some (but not all) of my edges. Among many great rewards and personal growth over they past five years, my love for cooking has come out of this experience.  I love to experiment in the kitchen and if I had to pin-point a culinary style I would call it something like Pan-Cultural Soul Food.  Bringing the familiar together with the exotic to make you feel like you're eating a treasured family recipe made by your wise old Grandmother, even if you're experiencing these flavors for the first time.

Next, music:  I started playing drums when I was 10 years old and started my first punk band when I was 12.  Been playing music in one form or another ever since.  Currently I am in two working bands, High Card Drifters and 5 Cent Coffee.  I am also a DJ at a community radio station called Ozcat Radio out of Vallejo CA.  My show is monday nights from 6-9pm on 89.5fm and streaming worldwide.  I plan on pairing food with songs and bringing some of the local music community of the Bay Area into this blog, by way of music reviews, interviews and recipes from weirdo rockers!

Finally, booze:  I enjoy a cold beverage, I'm not going to lie.  Here you will find my insights on local suds, spirtis and back alley moonshines.  I love to cook with booze and I try never to get on stage with out a pint in y hand so it all ties together.

So sit back, turn the sound up to 11, pour yourself a tall one and preapre to have your mouth water as we meat Under the Table.
